Since 1900, the United States has lost sixty-five (65) submarines that have gone On Eternal Patrol, taking more than 4,000 officers and crew. Additionally, the United States lost more than 230 military personnel in actions, accidents, and other events that did not result in the loss of the boat.
This four-layered framed wooden flag is engraved with each boat that was lost. Each flag is custom-made and hand-finished by the proud daughter of a submarine veteran and owner of (SS) Challenge Coins. Each one is lightly sanded and finished with three coats of tung oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. Our flags are made of the highest quality wood and are a unique gift to honor those we have lost.
