After years of requests, we’re proud to finally offer the Sonar Technician breast badge! So what is a Sonar Technician? On a submarine, a Sonar Technician (ST) is the sharp-eared sailor responsible for detecting, classifying, and tracking contacts using advanced sonar systems. They listen to the ocean’s whispers, identify threats, and provide critical information to the control room—often long before anyone else knows what’s out there.

Whether it’s passive or active sonar, STs are the boat’s underwater eyes and ears. And yes—they really can hear shrimp fart and swear they once tracked a whale for 300 nautical miles just to prove a point.

This pewter badge is regulation-sized (though never officially authorized), approximately 3" x 1.5", and features two butterfly clutch pins on the back for secure wear or display.
